Thayer's Dry Mouth Spray
Does Your Mouth Get Dry or Your Voice Hoarse?

We all have occasions when we develop a dry sore scratchy throat or a hoarse tired voice. Whether you have laryngitis, a sore throat or just a dry irritated mouth, relief is what you want. Irritated or inflamed tissues in the larynx (voice box) or throat will usually distort the sound of your voice. Often it's caused by excessive vocalizing: too much speaking, singing, cheering at games or concerts, shouting, etc.

Why Do Anything About It?

A dry throat is uncomfortable and a persistently dry throat is more susceptible to inflammation and infection - problems which you don't need. A hoarse voice prevents you from singing and is an annoying handicap everytime you have to speak. It is uncomfortable or painful for you and irritating or distracting to the listener.

Why Not Just Drink Water?

Drinking lots of water is a good healthy and smart idea for many reasons. Before extended periods of vocalizing one should drink a lot of water. But the water has to pass through the digestive system and through the blood before it can be delivered to larynx (voice box). Frequent, often inconvenient bathroom breaks become necessary. Moreover, even with large fluid intake, the body's mucous glands often can't secrete enough replacement moisture fast enough to keep up with the increased demand of singing.
